Mim has healed from numerous health conditions since implementing a carnivore diet. “Since I was a child, I have suffered from so many autoimmune disorders.” At 27 years old, she feels she has gotten her life back and has learned so much about how her body reacts to various foods.
Mim had a long list of skin concerns, including eczema. Also known as atopic dermatitis, eczema is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that presents as dry, itchy skin. In severe cases, it can excrete clear fluid when scratched. “I had horrible rashes that covered my entire body,” Mim shares. “It was never-ending itchiness!”
Mim also struggled with acne long into adulthood, which is usually only present during adolescence. “I had severe acne on my face and cystic acne on my buttocks and vaginal area.” She also had hidradenitis suppurativa, a painful skin condition in which the sweat glands of the armpits become infected and produce large lumps under the skin. When enlarged, these pea or marble-sized lumps drain pus.
Mim also recalls suffering from debilitating back pain. A possible cause may have been an early onset of arthritis, which eventually presented in her wrists and ankle. Given these conditions, she was losing mobility in her twenties.
Digestion was another struggle before Mim began a carnivore diet. She suffered from “bladder inflammation (always feeling like I have to pee)” and “constant bloating.” Additionally, she reports suffering from IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and acid reflux, both signs of an irritated gut and improper digestion.
Mim’s “intense sugar cravings” led to significant weight gain and “vaginal infections due to candida overgrowth.”
As Mim’s health declined, she also struggled with extreme PMS (premenstrual syndrome) and painful ovarian cysts.
All of these issues took a toll on Mim, and she remembers “frequent crying, anger, and suicidal attempts.” She took antidepressants since age 15 but says, “they didn’t help.”
Mim made a discovery that would change her life forever. “After eliminating many different foods, I found out that I severely react to gluten, dairy, soy, legumes, nuts, eggs, and grains. I tried a low-carb diet, but I was never 100% symptom-free until I went full carnivore.” Mim is relieved to share that all her symptoms are completely gone since adopting a meat-based diet.
Mim is careful to stay on track with her carnivore way of eating. “If I eat something bad, those symptoms all come back.” This is likely due to plant foods’ inflammatory effects on the body, especially for those with known allergies or food sensitivities.
Given her long list of previous ailments and history of chronic inflammatory conditions, Mim is particularly motivated to continue her carnivore journey. Today, her life looks completely different!
“Ever since I fixed my diet, I have advanced so much in my career and personal life. I never knew it was possible to feel as amazing as I do now!”
