Coty has struggled with his weight most of his life. He says he has tried every diet out there but struggled with counting macros and calories, timing meals, and overall, always felt hungry and never satiated. Coty was diagnosed with psoriasis as a child and said the creams and other medications doctors gave him did nothing to cure his psoriasis. Coty has also struggled with mental health issues, including anxiety and depression, for most of his life, brain fog, and lack of energy as an adult.
Coty says he heard about the carnivore diet from searching various health videos on YouTube and later learned about the community. At first, the carnivore diet sounded very strict, and he didn’t want to give up carbohydrates. Coty admits to a carb addiction and says giving up carbs didn’t sound feasible. However, he couldn’t deny that the people sharing their success stories with the carnivore diet looked healthy and happy. After dragging his feet, he decided to give the carnivore diet a try.
Coty says he jumped into the carnivore lifestyle with an “all-in” attitude. He says he saw daily improvements in weight loss, skin issues, moods, and mental health. He also noticed he began to sleep better. Coty says the improvement in his attitudes and mental health has helped him become a better father and have a more positive outlook on life.
Coty also says the amount of energy the carnivore way of eating has given him helps him feel more motivated to work out. Coty describes that before the carnivore diet, he struggled to want to exercise, and when he did work out, he often felt tired afterward. Now Coty can sustain the same amount of energy throughout his workout. Coty also says he feels stronger and happier to be exercising t than he previously did.
Coty says a typical day for him includes eating when he is hungry, and his daily activity level usually dictates how much and how often he eats. Coty states he enjoys eating foods like steak (which he says he now craves), water, and salt. Coty describes eating dairy for his first week as a carnivore diet follower but has found it doesn’t sit well with his stomach, and he doesn’t need it. He does drink black coffee from time to time and has recently begun to add liver to his diet, which he credits to giving him an extra uptick in his mood.
Coty says he is thankful for this way of eating and how it has completely changed his life. He says he struggled with depression for over thirty-two years and always assumed it would be a part of his life. Coty never knew he could have freedom from his mental health and that overcoming the stress and the cloud he felt every day was life-changing.
Coty says what made the carnivore diet successful for him, rather than the many other diets he has tried, has been the “ease of application.” He isn’t counting macros or calories, and he eats when he is hungry. He has several friends who are currently trying the carnivore diet after seeing his success, and he is thankful he can share his journey with others and help motivate them to improve their health.
