Relief from Migraine Headaches
For the past seven months, Justin has been following a carnivore lifestyle. Switching to a meat-based diet has allowed him to greatly reduce (if not completely eliminate) terrible migraine headaches from which he suffered over the last decade. “Anyone out there who’s ever suffered from migraines, you know how terrible and disrupting to your life they can be,” Justin shares.
Overcoming Social Challenges and Emotional Impact
For those who are fortunate not to experience them and may not be aware, a migraine as a headache that can cause severe throbbing pain or a pulsing sensation. Most people feel discomfort on one side of the head, but the sensation of pounding or pulsing pain can begin in the forehead or around the eye area. During severe episodes, migraine headaches are accompanied by nausea and vomiting. Many who experience them believe they can be triggered by extreme sensitivity to light and sound.
Justin knows he speaks to other migraine sufferers when relating his own experiences about having social events ruined by food triggers that may cause the headaches. “You’re scared to go out with friends because you might be triggered by something you eat. You’re scared that along with the migraines, depression and anxiety follows. It makes it really difficult to focus and makes it especially hard to live the best life you can live.”
Transforming Negative Self-Talk and Mental Wellbeing
Justin struggled with those issues for much of his adult life, and it began to affect his mental well-being and sense of self-worth. Justin describes engaging in “negative self-talk”. During his bouts of depression, his inner dialogue was fixated on his negative attributes and experiences, which affected his personality and how he interacted with others in his life. “The depression and anxiety drove me into a lot of negative self-talk”, he shares. “I thought I was lazy. I told myself I was dumb and couldn’t do anything right, but since being on the carnivore diet, all that has changed!”
A New Positive Outlook on Life
Today, Justin feels like a whole new person with a completely different and more positive outlook on life, which he directly correlates to his time following a carnivore lifestyle. “I’m more positive now,” he shares with enthusiasm. “I feel like my dark cloud has certainly lifted. It’s like I was a diamond that had been covered with dirt and grime, and someone came along and scrubbed it, and now my life gleams like the beautiful diamond that it was meant to be.”
Carnivore Diet: A Key to Recovery
Also central to Justin’s healing journey is that he has endured and fully recovered from two traumatic incidents over the course of the last several months. He was in a bad car accident in the spring and was hit by a car in the summer.”I believe that the carnivore diet really helped me in my recovery of both accidents, being in physical therapy for most of the year, to now being able to hit the gym three days a week,” he says.
Improved Mental Clarity and Energy Boost
To top it all off, Justin now has much more mental clarity and he feels sharper with more energy than ever before. “I just turned 31 and I feel even better than when I was 21, all thanks to the carnivore diet!”
