William loses weight and improves knee pain on a carnivore diet

From Keto to Carnivore: William’s Weight Loss and Athletic Gains

William is 45 years old and is a practicing psychiatrist who has lost weight and resolved years of knee pain on the carnivore diet.

Although he reports having been in overall good health before changing his diet, William joined his wife in solidarity and support and began following the ketogenic diet a year ago. “After several months on the keto diet, we shifted over to the carnivore diet.

Dr. Shawn Baker was our inspiration,” William explains. And the way they eat is not the only thing William and his wife have in common with Dr. Baker. “Both of us have been competitive rowers.

My wife competed in college, and I continue to be a competitive rower now. Since we switched over to the carnivore diet, the overall results have been amazing.”

Waistline Shrinks, Chronic Knee Pain Disappears on Carnivore Diet

William reports even better results and athletic performance when he switched from the ketogenic diet to the carnivore diet, removing all plants and consuming only animal foods. “I lost a net of 30 pounds, and more importantly, I lost between 3 and 4 inches off my waist.”

For a point of reference, William adds that he measured a 34-inch waist at age 19, but had increased to 36 inches by his 40th birthday. “Within a few weeks on the ketogenic diet, and then later moving into the carnivore diet, I was back down to a 34-inch waist, and those are getting loose!”

A general consensus from health professionals regarding waist circumference is that healthy males measure below 40 inches and females measure below 35 inches. Larger waist circumference can be linked to type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease.

William has also seen important gains at the gym, and more specifically, his weight-lifting routine. “I’ve been lifting weights regularly, and I can say I’m the strongest I’ve been since I was at least 22 years old. I really enjoy squatting consistently as well as the deadlift.”

Stronger Than Ever: Weightlifting Success on the Carnivore Diet

This was a significant win for William, as he previously suffered from chronic knee pain. “It got to the point where I had to stop running entirely,” he recalls.

“About five years ago, I decided that I wasn’t going to run anymore because my knees hurt all the time. The only way I could avoid knee pain was to do impact-free exercise like rowing.”

Since transitioning over to the carnivore diet, William is pleased to report that his pain has disappeared. “Moving to the carnivore diet, I’ve found that my knee pain completely went away, and now I can run whenever I feel like it,” he shares.

“I regularly run for 10 to 15 minutes for warm-ups before I lift weights. Every once in a while, I’ll run outside for 3 or 4 miles at a time. I haven’t had a problem with my knee in over a year now.”

No Health Issues, Normal Test Results on Carnivore Diet

William was fortunate to not require prescription medication or suffer from any major health issues before starting the carnivore diet, and confirms that all of his test results still are within normal range.

“My lipid panel was fine, as well as all of my other measures. Since then, I have had my fasting insulin tested and it’s down to around a 1.”

Results are not typical. All viewers of this content, especially those taking prescription or over-the-counter medications, should consult their physicians before beginning any nutrition, supplement or lifestyle program.
