Patrick healed from Ulcerative Colitis on a carnivore diet

At just 20 years old, Patrick has bravely battled for better health and healing through a carnivore diet. Since he was diagnosed at age 10 with type 1 diabetes and at age 18 with ulcerative colitis, Patrick has seen multiple doctors who provided little hope for a full recovery.

Patrick has been in and out of doctors’ offices for half his life. “Being in hospitals and doctors’ offices is nothing foreign to me,” he shares. “I hated every time I would have to go because they would always give me horrible news and follow it up with even worse news.”

For example, he recalls one doctor saying, “So, you have ulcerative colitis with inflammatory blood markers higher than I have ever seen. This puts you at a greater risk for other illnesses, and you’ll be reliant on dangerous immune-suppressing drugs for the rest of your life!” It was quite the prognosis for then-18-year-old Patrick to accept.

“I was willing to try anything to take back control of my life,” he recalls. “I was determined to avoid the grim image the doctors always painted for me about what it’s like to live with autoimmune disease.”

Armed with information on how a meat-based diet had provided healing for many others, Patrick took the plunge. “I started a carnivore diet consisting of fatty beef, organ meat, salt, and water. I was absolutely thrilled to reap positive results from it!” Patrick’s results so far have been near-miraculous. “I am looking forward to getting on with my life now!”

Healing from ulcerative colitis is a remarkable feat. Recognized as a chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), the immune system experiences abnormal reactions, causing inflammation in the digestive tract.

In Patricks’s severe case, ulcers had formed on the inner lining of his large intestine, causing painful flare-ups and other digestive complications. “My inflammatory markers (CRP) are back within normal range. I have no symptoms of ulcerative colitis!”

Additionally, Patrick has improved his type 1 diabetes since following a meat-only diet. “My blood sugars are far more stable with virtually no highs.”

These days, Patrick isn’t wasting any more time in hospitals or doctors’ offices. He’s out living his life and sharing the message that meat heals.

“All around, my life has changed for the better, to say the least!” He credits a carnivore diet for providing him with a path to healing his immune system and helping him manage his type 1 diabetes.

“I love this movement because it goes against what every pompous doctor ever thought was true about my diagnoses!” By removing all plant foods from his diet, Patrick avoided any side effects from drugs designed to suppress his immune system and prevent IBD flare-ups. Healing his gut issues with animal-based foods proved to be a more sustainable solution.

As Patrick continues to make a full recovery, he has hope for the future. “I am looking forward to getting on with my life now, and I’m a little better every day!”
