Lee Anne’s son Sebastian was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at age six and had to have part of his intestine removed. The doctor prescribed an effective drug, but Lee Anne was concerned about some of the serious side effects, adding to the reality that patients with Crohn’s are far more likely to contract colorectal cancer later in life.
“I have been a liaison for truth and health when it comes to immunity and finding out the cause of this terrible affliction which has affected several people in my family,” she shares.
Discovering the Carnivore Diet through Her Sister
After trying different diets and protocols herself to see if they might be a good match for her son, Lee Anne heard about the carnivore diet through her sister, a psychologist and advocate for health.
“My sister had been following a carnivore diet for six months and had a lot of success with it. I wasn’t even thinking about my own health at the time, but when she brought it up, I decided to try it first to see if it might help my son.”
Lee Anne’s sister introduced her to several online carnivore support groups, and Lee Anne dove into all the information she could find, including Dr. Shawn Baker’s podcast.
Lee Anne’s Immediate Results: Relief from Tendonitis, Migraines, and Lower Back Pain
“I had immediate results within the first 60 days,” Lee Anne recalls. “I had severe tendonitis in my shoulders, elbows, and knees. All of that went away right in the beginning.” She also found relief from debilitating migraines and lower back pain after switching to a meat-based diet.
She did have a transitional period after leaving a diet high in oxalates, but those symptoms were mild and went away after she balanced her electrolytes.
Lee Anne’s Simple Meat-Based Diet: Turning the Food Pyramid Upside Down
“I followed my sister’s advice to turn the food pyramid upside down and eat only when hungry and until full,” Lee Anne explains. “I eat 1-2 pounds of ruminant meat. I keep it really simple, and it’s beautiful to be able to get rid of all the food chaos in my life!”
Lee Anne eats when hungry and is not confined to standard meal times, making it easier to pay attention to her body’s hunger signals. She often chooses ribeye steak and regularly enjoys her favorite breakfast staple from childhood, bacon and eggs.
