Before she found the carnivore diet, Kim experienced crippling arthritis in her back. Fifteen years ago, Kim was also diagnosed with high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes. Kim says for about five years, she took Metformin and pricked her finger multiple times every day. Kim says she knew she wanted more for her life, so she started looking into ways to improve her diet.
Gradual Elimination: Low-Carb Diet for Diabetes and High Blood Pressure
Kim gradually eliminated bread and grains from her diet and started following a low-carbohydrate way of eating. By this simple act alone, Kim was able to put her diabetes and her high blood pressure into remission and no longer needed to take medication. Kim, however, was still suffering from debilitating back pain and migraines. She even had a prescription for 800 milligrams of ibuprofen which she took almost daily for pain.
The Carnivore Diet: Healing Arthritis and Migraines
Kim says her version of a low-carb, keto diet contained meat and a lot of greens. She describes eating an entire bag of spinach by herself in one sitting. One day Kim heard an interview with Mikhaila Peterson, who spoke about her battle with arthritis. Mikhaila described how she healed her inflammation and arthritis by eating a meat-only diet. At that point, Kim started researching the carnivore diet.
Eight Weeks of Struggle: Kim’s Transition to a Meat-Only Diet
Kim says it didn’t take much to convince her to convert to a meat-only carnivore diet since she already ate a lot of meat. All she had to do was cut the green vegetables. Kim says the first eight weeks of the carnivore diet were very difficult for her as she seemed to run out of energy once she got home from work. However, she stuck it out, and her energy skyrocketed once she passed those eight weeks.
Movement for Healing: Walking and Nourishing the Body
Kim says she doesn’t work out much but likes to walk. She says she finds ways to get some movement implemented throughout her day since “a healed and nourished body wants to move.” Kim also says she feels like she is “continually skinking and healing” now that she is following the carnivore way of eating. She even talks about her skin shrinking. She struggled with excess skin in the past, especially in her abdomen, but she says the carnivore lifestyle has been healing that too.

Beyond her energy levels, Kim has regained her life by eliminating vegetables from her diet and is no longer in pain from her arthritis or migraines. She also says her moods have stabilized, and she has been able to lose some additional weight. Kim says, “I am finally comfortable in my skin.”
Navigating Social Settings: The Challenges and Benefits of a Carnivore Lifestyle
Kim says her body is now the smallest it has ever been. She says she looks like she works out a lot and often gets comments and compliments from those around her. Kim has had a few naysayers who have told her she had lost too much weight. She says she responds, “you’ve never seen me this healthy before.” Kim also says she has had to learn how to navigate social settings like the holidays and birthdays, but it is all worth it to her. Kim says, “I feel better now than I have in my entire life.”
