Olivia improved hair, skin, thyroid, Hashimoto’s, PCOS on carnivore diet

Olivia’s Health Struggle

Olivia shares her incredible carnivore transformation. Switching to a meat-based diet, Olivia has improved her weight, hair growth, skin, and sleep issues, while overcoming her battle with Hashimoto’s thyroid condition and PCOS.

Throughout her twenties, Olivia was riddled with health issues that drained her energy and enjoyment in her life. “I lost my menstrual cycle, and my hair started to thin. I had really terrible acne and bad joint pain. My sleep was really bad, and I was living a high-stress lifestyle,” Olivia recalls. “My husband was in a work accident, and around the same time, I got diagnosed with Hashimoto’s and PCOS.”

Hashimoto’s disease is an autoimmune condition in which antibodies attack the thyroid. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, or PCOS, is a hormonal disorder causing enlarged ovaries with small cysts. Symptoms include menstrual irregularity, excess hair growth, acne, and obesity.

The Decision To Try Carnivore

“I was on thyroid medication and followed a program of supplements and shakes. I ate four or five meals a day consisting of only oven-baked chicken and vegetables. Although I was losing weight, I was also miserable with what I was eating and unable to eat so much. I decided to give Carnivore a try, and I am so happy I did!”

Inspired by videos from Dr. Shawn Baker, Olivia switched from a paleo diet to a strict carnivore diet of meat, water, and salt for thirty days. “I started, and I didn’t look back,” she remembers.

Benefits Of The Carnivore Diet

Olivia describes having a few mild transitional issues, including some digestive and bowel discomfort, but this only lasted for about two weeks. Despite the mild symptoms, she reports almost immediate improvements. “I had more energy right away,” she says. “Even with some head fog at first, I felt so awake!”

That’s what kept her going through the brief transitional phase. “I’ve never had that kind of energy before,” she continues. “There is no tired like thyroid tired. Every day I was exhausted, and now I don’t remember the last time I needed a nap. The energy boost from Carnivore is instantaneous!”

Olivia’s Typical Day Of Eating

A typical day of eating for Olivia includes two meals. “I’m a ground beef girl,” she shares. “It’s just so easy, and it tastes so good.” She enjoys burgers, NY strip steak, eggs, and chicken and occasionally includes cheese. “I just started getting into oxtail, too!”

Olivia’s Incredible Transformation

Since making the switch to an animal-based diet, Olivia has lost 70 pounds and has put her Hashimoto’s and PCOS into remission! Her skin is now free from acne, and her hair is growing strong.

“My sleep got better, my joint pain went away, and my menstrual cycle came back the first month,” she reports. “I have very few PMS symptoms.” After a decade of missed or no periods, the return to regularity has been a huge non-scale victory for Olivia.

“The carnivore glow is an actual thing because it starts from the inside and shows outwardly.” Olivia credits her newfound confidence to her carnivore journey. “When you finally see a way of living that you never thought was possible, it just feels so good.”

  1. Congrats, Olivia ! Do you think that possibly the carnivore diet helps hypothyroidism on the cellular/tissue level because it seems to lower inflammation? Thank you!
