Sophie improved digestion, malnutrition, stunted growth on carnivore diet

Here’s the success story of my oldest daughter on an only meat based diet.

Sophie was born in 2007 after an early induction. When she was born she couldn’t breath and she spent 15 days in the NICU with an IV and rounds of antibiotics. I couldn’t breastfeed her (I was advised against it because it wasn’t nutritionally dense enough) so you could imagine my feelings as a first time mother.

Instead, doctors preferred her on formula because she was underweight at birth. When we returned home I knew there was something very wrong. She would vomit and experience severe acid reflux after drinking her soy formula. After 4 months, Sophie wasn’t gaining weight and would barely eat and sleep. The doctors advised a plant based diet along with grains, legumes and zero fat to resolve her issues and I was even called a bad mother for not doing it the way I was supposed to (when things weren’t improving)

After 9 months of severe constipation, acid reflux, pale skin, malnutrition and underweight, we decided to give meat a go. My gut instinct was screaming, red meat please!!!

She and I healed in the process (myself as an ex vegetarian). Sophie has followed a meat based diet for the past 11 years. Her meals consists of primarily red meat and fresh fish (sashimi being one of her favorite meals) bone broth, raw and cooked eggs, raw goats milk and yogurt, animal fats and organs.

After a year of exclusively feeding her bone broth and red meat, her issues went away for real!!! I remember when doctors told us she wouldn’t be able to walk or talk, so much that we refused to take her back to well-child check ups  for 6 years because she was so damn healthy!

9 years later after Sophie’s birth, she was  diagnosed with Williams Syndrome, a syndrome that carries many cardiovascular and respiratory issues but Doctors were so amazed and impressed at how healthy her heart was, they still wouldn’t agree with her diet, so they assumed it was just luck.

Sophie is now 12 and she lives a life with zero life  restrictions. She can eat and swallow properly, she can breath better, she can walk and run , she can communicate, she can  control her vowel movements and most of all, she can live a fulfilling life, free of pain.
