Martha heals joint pain on carnivore diet

Martha experienced incredible healing from debilitating joint pain and inflammation while following the carnivore diet. Like many others have reported, she was surprised to discover relief with just four days on a meat-based diet, and was pleased as her body continued to heal over the next few months.

“Throughout my life,” Martha recalls, “I have followed the standard American diet and several others without permanent success, and had always considered myself healthy and active until about two years ago.” In her early fifties, Martha began eating more vegetables and reducing her meat consumption based on what she describes as negative publicity for meat-centric meals. “It wasn’t until I started experiencing severe joint pain and inflammation that I started questioning everything I had known about nutrition.” At times, Martha’s inflammation was so severe that one hand would swell up to be significantly larger than the other.

Martha shared her concerns with her son, and he advised her to follow the carnivore diet for 30 days to see if it would bring her some relief. “I was shocked at first,” she remembers, “but I would do anything to get rid of the awful joint pain I was experiencing. On the fourth day, my joint pain disappeared, and later on, my lingering knee problem also went away.”

Martha recalls having frequent sinus problems, especially when she was stressed or exposed to severe cold, and she used to snore heavily. Those symptoms also went away once she made the switch to a meat-based diet. Interestingly, Martha noticed that the diet also has provided relief from menopausal symptoms. “I can’t remember the last time I had a hot flash!”

For many women, weight loss during menopause is next to impossible, but Martha is thrilled to report she has effortless lost 25 pounds. “I look like I’ve lost more like 50 pounds, because of all the inflammation I previously had in my body. I didn’t want this to be about weight loss,” she continues, “because I was just desperate to find a way to be healthy.”

Martha offers an important reminder that suffering with inflammation, joint pain, and weight gain doesn’t need to be part of the aging process. “I said this is not right! I imagined myself at 74 years old and not being able to get up or do anything. I refused to continue to accept that kind of life for myself!”

At age 54, Martha feels better than ever. Even though she had been interested in nutrition throughout her life, she had not heard of the carnivore diet before. “I started listening to the information and following bright people who explained the science of the diet, and it totally made sense to me,” she says. “I basically ditched all the garbage I thought I knew and just started eating meat.” At first, she ate larger meals as her body was starting to heal and regain the nutrients she had been depriving herself of for years.

“I’ve come to the realization that nutrition really is number one,” she says. “Exercise helps, yes, but it’s secondary. What you ingest will show the effects on your health.”
