Mandy’s Struggle With Throat Pain
Mandy is a professional musician and theater artist. During an intense rehearsal, she developed severe throat pain. It was painful for her to speak, but the pain wasn’t in her vocal cords.
It was at the top of her esophagus and felt like a throat infection. Over time, the pain got progressively worse until she couldn’t continue with the shows. Weeks turned into months; even after a year, she could only speak a word or two per day without aggravating her pain.
Mandy was emotionally and physically challenged because of the pain: an excruciating burning sensation all day. She felt she had neither friends nor a life, so she stayed indoors, living in isolation.
Frustration With Medical Professionals
During this time, she saw approximately 30 different doctors who, in her mind, neither had a clue as to what was going on nor did they know what to do. The ones who did provide some sort of response said it was something irrelevant, that is, maybe she should try medication for depression or take a steroid to snort into her nose.
She felt it was pointless. She didn’t bother with medication because she knew it wasn’t the problem. The problem was the pain that no one understood. She became extremely depressed.
Trying Every Diet Possible
She finally took matters into her own hands. She tried every single diet that she could to find some relief. Several of them were unsuccessful. She would eat but then would be hungry right afterward.
She felt as if she could eat twice more but still felt hungry. She cut out sugar a bit, which seemed to help a little. That was the first time she felt any sort of relief, so she knew that diet was going to help.
Discovering The Carnivore Diet
Her friend kept messaging her about the carnivore diet, so she tried it. It didn’t take too long to get used to it. Visiting a naturopathic doctor, she underwent a test and was found to have heavy metal toxicity.
Results Of The Carnivore Diet
After trying virtually everything else possible, she found that being on the carnivore diet started to show results. She started to see the pain subside in her throat. Slowly, she began to say more words, then small conversations.
After six months, she’s now able to have conversations and sing. “It’s just such a relief to be able to have social interactions with people and to be able to express yourself through words.”
Benefits Beyond Throat Pain Relief
She’s learned a lot from being on this diet, things like learning about the basics of health and how important it is to fuel our bodies with quality food that we should eat to give us energy.
Because of the carnivore diet, she no longer craves sugar and can go the entire day feeling satisfied and not hungry. She’s also 14 months sober as she overcame a binge drinking problem. The carnivore diet also helps her to feel more secure in her sobriety.
She looks forward to continuing on with a more positive quality of life. She sees things more clearly now, and it has helped big-time with her anxiety.
Mandy loves the diet and would like to thank everyone in the carnivore community for all of the available support. “I feel like, as carnivores, we are part of something really powerful.”
Results are not typical. All viewers of this content, especially those taking prescription or over-the-counter medications, should consult their physicians before beginning any nutrition, supplement or lifestyle program.
