Paul has been relatively healthy for most of his life. He hasn’t been a person who has struggled with weight, and he says his diet before the carnivore way of eating was meat-based with a lot of vegetables and fruit. Health wasn’t a big concern until his wife broke her foot six years ago. Paul said his wife was in intense pain for the next two to three years, even after her foot should have healed.
Discovering the Carnivore Diet
Paul and his wife were going to a massage therapist during that time. He said their massage therapist introduced him and his wife to the carnivore lifestyle. Their massage therapist had just lost a lot of weight and healed his own inflammation on the carnivore diet. He knew Paul’s wife probably had a lot of inflammation in her foot and suggested she try the diet to help her heal.
The Benefits of the Carnivore Diet
Paul researched the diet, where he found the MeatRx community. He says the natural researcher in him wanted to see what they would be missing if he and his wife went meat-only. He discovered that they could get practically all their nutrition from meat, and other people seemed to be having massive success with this lifestyle.
Paul says he and his wife decided to do the diet together to support one another. Within two weeks, the pain in his wife’s foot was gone. The carnivore diet even healed his wife’s pain in her knees, which she had been dealing with for most of her life.
Paul and His Wife’s Typical Day on the Carnivore Diet
Paul also had some surprisingly great results from beginning this way of eating. Paul says he no longer snores and has reduced his headaches just by following the carnivore diet. He’s also noticed less bloating in his stomach, has a steady stream of energy, and is building muscle more quickly than his previous way of eating.
Paul says he and his wife enjoy two to three meals per day. They start their day with eggs and usually other types of meat, such as bacon or ground beef. Paul says he sometimes will skip lunch depending on his feelings; dinner is usually steak, pork, or sausage with a side of ground beef. He says he also enjoys eating seafood, although his wife is not a fan.
Sticking to the Carnivore Diet: Challenges and Successes
Paul says he is a bit more strict on the carnivore diet than his wife is. They did have an experience where they both decided to cheat during a Thanksgiving holiday celebration. Paul says they both felt like garbage immediately, and his wife’s foot pain returned. At that point, they knew this way of eating was best for them.
Paul says he has a few coworkers who refer to him as the “meat eater” and constantly ask him when he will eat something other than meat. Also, he and his wife have had to deal with pushback from family and friends, but he says, “there is no reason to go back.”
The Proof Is in the Pudding
Paul loves eating meat. He finds it delicious and is grateful for how it has changed his life and health. Paul says for himself and his wife, “the proof is in the pudding.”
