Noah heals Ankylosing Spondylitis, arthritis, back pain on carnivore diet

Coping With Ankylosing Spondylitis

Over 20 years ago, Noah was “unofficially diagnosed” with ankylosing spondylitis, an autoimmune disease causing arthritis in the spine. As the disease progresses, people end up walking in the shape of a candy cane. Noah says that the disease is very painful and debilitating.

He started to get the stooped-over posture and tried to stand up straight, but doing so would cause him pain at night. Exercises that help posture also caused him so much discomfort at night that he tossed and turned and got little rest. In fact, symptoms were exacerbated with exertion and worsened with rest.

Trying Different Treatments

For 20 years, Noah struggled with back pain and sleepless nights. He tried veganism, vegetarianism, chiropractors, and massage therapists in an attempt to find relief and healing. Others his age were in their prime, but Noah felt like he was declining. His friends and family knew not to ask him for help moving things because of his health problem.

Noah learned to cope with his pain, occasionally taking Advil at night to sleep, but he was always looking for a natural solution to his autoimmune disease.

Discovering The Carnivore Diet

About three months ago, his sister told him about Mikhaila Peterson and how she healed from her autoimmunity and depression with the carnivore diet.

He couldn’t believe it! We’ve been told for so long that red meat causes heart disease and cancer; that we should limit it in our diet; it’s hard to digest; and we need fiber, vegetables, and grains—we’re inundated with these concepts, Noah explains.

“One night—boom—I decided I was going to do it,” Noah says his morning routine included sugar in his coffee, and that morning he just stopped. And that day, he eliminated all sugar, grains, and veggies. Three months of eating carnivore, and he eats meat, dairy, and eggs. Lately, he’s added organic pickles and olives.

Positive Changes After Three Months

Within three weeks, Noah lost 20 pounds, but he says he wasn’t trying. One morning, as he was holding his six-month-old baby in bed, he realized he had no pain.

”It’s been at least a decade since I’ve just laid in bed without pain in the morning.” He also realized that his activities during the day, like exercising or mowing the grass, no longer caused him pain and discomfort at night.

He was finally sleeping through the night. For 20 years, he suffered from chronic inflammation and pain at night, but now “it’s virtually gone.” “I’ve had one or two episodes in the last three months where I’ve had discomfort that made me toss and turn and not sleep well.“ Now sleep brings relief from tiredness and soreness rather than creating more inflammation along with pain and discomfort.

Benefits Of The Carnivore Diet

Noah eliminated all sugar, grains, processed foods, and artificial ingredients when he started the carnivore diet. Eating only meat allows your gut to heal, and he believes that this helped to stem his inflammation.

    1. Danielle,

I’m sorry for this delayed reply. I hope your healing journey has found success. Im no guru… 🤷‍♂️
My greatest relief from my inflammatory response is found when my diet is simplest. Less starches, sugars, carbs etc. I know this is very basic but its not real complicated… a more carnivorous diet has been the best way for me to achieve the best results in my life… my greatest struggle that i still am working on is my love of heavy whipping cream in my coffee… i keep hoping i can find a path forward while keeping dairy but i think dairy is my last hurdle to realize a higher level of healing… its a big “head game” for me… 😉

We are working towards a more vibrant life. I pray you have found it or discover soon…
      Best Wishes
      Noah
