James: The Power of Lived Experience on Carnivore

For James, the descent into “modern disease” was silent and mindless. He grew up in a household that didn’t fear meat, but like most, he was conditioned to believe that “entertainment foods”—sugars, processed carbs, and fillers—were a necessary part of a balanced life.

By his mid-30s, the bill for that lifestyle came due. James found himself “pre-diabetic,” struggling with obesity, and gripped by a sudden, terrifying onset of anxiety. “I was exiting airplanes after I’d already boarded,” he recalls. “I’d have to exit rooms. These were experiences I had never come across.” He was tired of feeling tired, hiding behind food, and trying—unsuccessfully—to out-work a poor diet with 90-minute daily gym sessions.

The Myth of “Pill Deficiencies”

James’s initial instinct was the standard one: go to the doctor and get medicated. But he quickly realized that anxiety isn’t a “pill deficiency.” The medications for depression made him feel like a robot, often leaving him feeling worse than the condition itself.

The turning point came when James looked in the mirror and decided to be honest about what he was consuming. He realized that the brain is fed through the gut, and the gut is fed through the mouth. To find healing, he had to consciously choose what he was putting on his plate. He decided to stop treating the symptoms and start addressing the root cause.

The 45-Day Sharp Impact

James committed to a meat-based diet, eventually transitioning to the strict Lion Diet (ruminant meats only). The transformation happened in stages:

The Weight: Within one week, the weight began to fall. Three weeks in, he noticed a significant drop. He has since lost 70 pounds, moving from an estimated 250 down to a steady, lean 180.

The Mental Fog: By week three, his mental clarity had returned. The crippling anxiety that had forced him off planes vanished, and he was able to step off his medications.

The Joints: Around the one-month mark, James realized his chronic joint pain was gone. “I tried to do some running and I was like, ‘Oh, my joints don’t hurt.'”

“I Am An Athlete Now”

Today, James lives in Miami and refuses to be an athlete of the past. He doesn’t just work out; he sprints. He plays soccer with men in their early 20s who recruit him for his “constant training” and “ketosis-driven energy.”

His victories are proof that we are built to be consistent athletes throughout our lives, provided we fuel ourselves properly. James is now a vocal enthusiast on social media as James Eats Carnivore, challenging the narratives of mainstream nutrition and encouraging others to own their health.

“Real life experience is the science. It cannot be questioned or argued… I am feeling the best I have ever felt in my life, and the journey continues to evolve in a positively powerful direction.”
