Before finding the carnivore diet, Cody’s health was, in his words, “pretty much a mess! I was eating a lot of plants and didn’t know that I really don’t tolerate plants. SIBO, Candida overgrowth, gut biome off, skin issues, depression and anxiety.”
Cody followed a keto diet for about a year and went from being obese to experiencing some weight loss. His health issues did not improve, however, and he was still very uncomfortable mentally and physically. “Stuff that never went away during keto because I was still eating like a bunch of salads and really thinking that I needed this fiber.”
When Cody found out that he was still 15% body fat, he still wanted to slim down and tone up more, saying, “I really wanted to trim down, and after hearing everything and doing my own research on Carnivore, I figured that was my next step so I went to, right away, from a tube of macadamia nuts a day to lean proteins and no carbohydrates. I do an OMAD fast plus lean proteins and zero carbs.”

Rapid Results On Carnivore Diet
His transition to Carnivore from keto did not bring any transition symptoms, but it did bring “rapid results. Like my digestion really fixed itself within a month or two of doing it, and within like four months of doing the whole lean meat thing, I’d shed like 20 pounds-just got really ripped, it was awesome!” This personal transformation was a miracle to Cody and changed how he viewed himself.

As Cody continued down his carnivore diet path, he found that he was able to recover better and have more energy during his waking hours. “My energy levels went way up, and my sleep is awesome. By 10 or 11, I’m out, and it’s really heavy sleep.
Sleep was always an issue for me; I’d be up all night, tossing and turning.” He attributes some of this progress to also changing his eating schedule because “I used to eat like around midnight.” Many people find that eating just before bedtime leads to restless sleep.
Cody also found his mood improved, saying, “I don’t know if it was attributed to me liking myself better because I was looking good, but it was pretty much around the same time, like three or four months, and my anxiety and depression was pretty much all gone.”
He is calmer and less stressed: “The way I was able to handle stressful situations got much better. You don’t realize it because it’s gradual, then one day, you’re in a bad situation and remember how you would have reacted before.
I’m much calmer in stressful situations, have a cool head, and am less likely to pop off. Just less stressed, for sure!”
