I found carnivore after these health issues: Gall stones in 2016 (removed via “flush” I found online), a perforated colon in 2020 and Bell’s palsy episode in Jan of ’22 after bro had stroke last year.

Found carnivore through Jordan Peterson/Joe Rogan. Dr. Shawn was one of the first I found who was doing this as a lifestyle. Other carnivore/keto favorites are Ken Berry, Bart Kay, Anthony Chafee. First thing I realized was that educating myself was required for success as the tide of ignorance is hard to dismiss if you don’t know your shit. Spent around 1500 hours learning since February.

First 3 weeks sucked. Health benefits overall have been unreal:

  • Weight loss (~100lbs – was 283 in Jan ’22 and hit 183 on 9/20)
  • BP from borderline to healthy range
  • Energy x 10
  • 95% less joint and back pain
  • Mental clarity and attitude
  • Improved relationships (along with JP)
  • Improved skin (skin tags) and complexion
  • Toe fungus almost cured (yuck)
  • No digestive issues since I started carnivore
  • No teeth problems since I started carnivore

I consider myself a lifelong student (whether in school or not), and love living in a time where so much info is literally at our fingertips. It is a great time to be alive for anyone who tries to think for themselves. I think most carnivores I’ve seen fall into this category. Carnivore is a way of being healthier and not an ideology (for most).

Most important things to me are family time with my wife and girls, making music, learning and growing as much as my pride allows, and helping make people smile or even think, all while learning to be me and what that even means.

After a buddy’s recent heart attack (who is a few years younger than me) I am really becoming less and less afraid to share this way of eating (NOT A DIET) with anyone who opens that door a crack. I truly feel it’s saved my life.

Rebecca and I are now especially concerned with the eating of our seniors, as she recently took a position in a nursing home and sees first-hand the dangers of the food they are fed (ie using sugar as “comfort” food instead of poison).

Janet loses weight on a mainly carnivore diet

I’ve been chubby almost all my life. I’ve lost weight but unable to keep it off. In October of 2016, at the age of 57 I had a mindset change and became motivated to be healthy enough to enjoy my future grandkids. Family history was not good; my father died in his sleep at 61 (clogged arteries) and mother died of heart attack at 78. My oldest brother had double bypass at 60 and is now on dialysis. My other three brothers were on medicines to control blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar. One of them has since died of multiple Myeloma. Another brother has adopted a low carbohydrate diet and is off most meds.

My cholesterol was at 230 with A1c of 5.7. I joined Weight Watchers at 159.5 lbs. I am 4’11”. The points system was based on a low-fat diet and nothing was off limits in proper portions. It took me 18 months to reach my goal of 124 lbs. This gave me a BMI of 25. I was pleased with the loss but my cholesterol and A1c did not go down. Over the next three years I struggled to maintain 124. My husband was on the same journey as I with cholesterol of 240 and A1c of 5.8.

In September 2020 we retired and relocated to Fort Worth, Texas to be close to our daughter and son-in-law who were expecting our first grandson. We started watching several YouTube videos in which doctors, nutritionist, and others spoke about the benefits of low carb, keto, and carnivore diets as well as intermittent fasting. We became persuaded that the food pyramid was junk and could be the cause of metabolic syndrome. Our annual labs showed no change in our cholesterol or A1c. Statins were recommended but we both rejected this option.

In November 2021 we started a low carb diet and intermittent fasting; breakfast of eggs and meat at 11am and either a large salad (with meat) or steak & steamed vegetables at 4pm. It was easy and I was amazed at how satisfied I felt. We had labs done after 3 months. My weight dropped 6 lbs., my A1c dropped to 5.5 but my cholesterol was 270. My doctor strongly encouraged me to take a statin. I refused and asked about other options to gauge heart health. Her answer was to take a CT heart calcium score test. My husband and I both had the test done. My score was 6 and my husband’s score was 0. These results confirmed two things for me; 1) cholesterol level is a poor indicator of heart health 2) a low carb, keto or carnivore diet is much better for me than low fat, whole grains, and seed oils.

Other benefits we experienced over the last year is better dental health, my childhood skin fungus has vanished, my husband has no more skin tags, his athletes foot issue is gone, his acid reflux cured, and his eye floaters are reduced.

Lily healed from inflammation and digestive and skin issues on a strict carnivore diet

I practiced strict carnivore for almost 2 years, with about 6 months of the lion diet to deal with inflammation, nervous system inflammation, chronic digestive issues, and horrible skin issues. This was from about mid-2018 to early 2020, which was during the filming of the HBO series The Anarchists. (Visible change in me can be witnessed from the episodes from 2018, at my worst right before carnivore, to now) Nothing was officially diagnosed but I had constant nausea, headaches, bone and joint pain, histamine reactions often, extreme fatigue, and more. Most foods made me feel sick.

I have been slowly reintroducing things but still don’t consume gluten, soy, or any of those things with no plans to because they cause inflammation. I still don’t eat most vegetables, no legumes. Currently on a simple whole foods, meat-heavy diet but feel as good as I did on carnivore. I quit carnivore because of different digestive issues that were helped by certain simple carbs. Still very much a believer in carnivore being good for healing the body and for determining specific trigger foods.

Adam healed from psoriasis on the carnivore diet

My name is Adam. My story is a journey of many ups and downs, battling with psoriasis and cancer and much more.

Overcoming the challenges that come along with health issues such as these.

Lycia and Family Heal On Carnivore Lifestyle

Lycia is a retired 72-year-old living in Florida with her husband of 53 years and their 49-year-old mentally handicapped son. She refurbishes furniture as a hobby. Occasionally she rides a motorcycle with her husband. They dabble in vintage cars and just enjoy their family and life as much as possible.

Lycia suffered from depression, anxiety, eczema, arthritis, sciatica, severely dry skin, brain fog, and hair loss. After voluntarily discontinuing statins, she chanced across a video of Dr. Ken Berry and eventually ended up adopting the carnivore lifestyle. She and her family members have benefited tremendously, with her son finding relief from IBS, and do not consider going back.

Joey Heals Skin Issues, Improves Cognition On Carnivore Diet

Joey Schwartz is wise beyond his years. Growing up in L.A. with a nutritionist mom, he has always had a keen interest in health and wellness. “I’ve always been super fascinated in nutrition—trying to find the best food to eat to ensure longevity, happiness…you know, overall satisfaction in life.” He grew up on the low-fat menu his mom (and many other nutritionists) commonly recommend, but when he started getting into weight lifting, he dove head first into the research himself. He tried a “body builder” type diet at first, with lots of carbs and protein—and ended up with skin issues. Eventually, he decided to give low-carb a try, but the copious amounts of vegetables he was eating left him lethargic and with stomach pain after every meal.

One day, he came across a Tik Tok video by carnivore advocate Paul Saladino, and became intrigued by the notion that plants were potentially harmful to your health. Delving further, he researched how plants have “biological chemical warfare mechanisms embedded within them to prevent you from eating them.” Logically, it made sense, so he started eating a meat and fruit diet not long after that. Six months later, he dropped the fruit and decided to give an all-meat diet a try—and describes the subsequent results as “life-transforming.”

Following the change, he could sleep fewer hours and wake with more energy—but where he really saw a profound change was in his athletic performance. Playing competitive soccer at the time, he says “My coach said, ‘I’ve never seen anyone improve this much in such a short period of time.’” Joey got faster, stronger, and could run non-stop the whole game with what seemed like boundless energy. He also noticed effortless muscle gains when hitting up the gym and lifting weights.

On top of that, his mental acuity was way better. “It’s kind of a strange phenomenon to describe. I can think better…I can remember things much easier—I have a more vast vocabulary.” He also says he’s feels calmer when under pressure. It’s a stark contrast compared to his fellow classmates in high school, many of whom—while relatively affluent—are stricken with mental health problems and are on medication.

While gearing up for his freshman year of college at UCLA, he encountered pushback from the college’s dining services to accommodate his carnivore diet—an interesting development considering how eager they are to cater to vegan and vegetarian students. The problem? They wouldn’t cook the meat in anything besides canola oil, and that was something Joey wasn’t willing to compromise on. Don’t worry, a crockpot full of meat in his dorm room has since solved the problem.

At just 18 years old, Joey is now on a mission to spread the carnivore message to the younger generation, and is starting a Youtube channel of his own to get the message out there. He has great insight into why many in the field of nutrition are resistant to embracing the carnivore lifestyle. “By switching your approach so drastically, you’re basically conceding to the notion that what you’ve been practicing is entirely wrong.” Out of the mouths of babes!

Jon heals from gut issues, fatigue, and arthritis

I was a raw vegan/fruitarian for 7 years. I was actually an influencer in that community and offered health consultations helping people heal chronic degenerative diseases using a fruitarian diet and now do the same thing but now recommending an animal-based diet/carnivore. I’ve actually helped many in the short term heal cancer, arthritis, skin conditions, etc. But I watched the same people including myself start to degenerate trying to maintain this diet in the long term. I’m a certified detoxification specialist and online iridologist.

For the last 1 1/2 years of the 7 years being vegan mostly fruitarian/raw vegan I developed major gut issues. Gi pain and digestive problems and blood sugar issues. This was also very common with my clients that were long-term vegan.

The more I continued to eat a high-fiber diet the more I continued to degenerate. Skin problems, gut pain, malnutrition, and depression.

I started having cravings for eggs and I mean intense cravings. My instincts told me to eat them and to adopt a mainly carnivore diet to heal my gut. I listened and it dramatically changed my life for the good!!! In only 3 months I can proudly say I have no more gut issues!!

I’ve been on a mainly carnivore diet for 4 months now. My muscles came back, testosterone came up. Consistent energy. Zero gut pain. No constant gas and zero bloat and no more depression!!! And I feel like the 25-year-old bull I once was at 37!!!

I will send you a pic of how skinny I got as a fruitarian 5 years ago and what I look like now on a zero fiber 90% carnivore diet. The only plant food I consume living on an island (koh Phangan) in Thailand is fresh coconut water out of Thai coconut which does not cause me any issue at all.

This photo here was when I was super emaciated at 105 lbs when I was 100% fruitarian the other pics were when I was high raw vegan towards the end of my vegan journey. I was still very skinny and underweight at 120 lbs.

My diet now is muscle meats, liver, and coconut water.

Thank you so much for doing this interview with me and im hoping to bring more awareness to people especially the fruitarians and raw vegans that are in denial like I was and have major eating disorders.

Kassandra reverses a lifetime of obesity

My name is Kassandra and I’m 35 years old. My mother and I nearly died during my birth because she had untreated gestational diabetes. She passed out and I was pulled out with forceps unresponsive. I survived in nicu because the nurses taped together two incubators since I was a very large baby.

I stayed large through most of my life, starting my first diet when I started public school.

By my mid 20’s I was 270+lbs, and I had PCOS, lipedema, keratosis pilaris, bad acne, and extreme  joint pain.

Lost 100 lbs in my late twenties biggest loser style. My legs didn’t shrink much but I felt better because I was thinner.

Then I watched “Sugar: a bitter at truth” by Dr. Lustig and gave up sugar for 3 months.
10 months the later, I welcomed my first happy accident son into the world.

I eased up my sugar restrictions but still restricted calories and over exercised. Couldn’t lose weight. Blamed it on the birth control so I stopped it and got another happy accident.

My second pregnancy had complications because of extreme weight gain and failed glucose test.  Then I tried keto at the permission of my OB and stopped gaining weight. Had a healthy baby.

Listened to a bunch of YouTube lectures from keto conventions and heard about carnivore.  I still wasn’t gaining but couldn’t stop binging so I looked up what little I could on carnivore and tried 90 days.  That was over 2.5 years ago. I’m leaner than Ive ever been in my life. No more PCOS, acne, or joint pain. My lipedema is shrinking and reduced a lot. Keratosis has reduced 95%.

I can’t weigh myself because I still struggle with scale anxiety but I’m a S/M (dress size 6/8) and I spent most of my life in XL/XXL so I feel like I have a new body with more energy in my thirties than I had in my teens.
