Cameron resolved his IBS, insomnia, and anxiety on a carnivore lifestyle

Cameron’s journey to the carnivore way of eating started ten years ago. Cameron says as a teenager, he mostly ate the Standard American Diet. Around the time he turned seventeen or eighteen years old, he began to take his health more seriously. Cameron was an active martial artist who wanted to improve his health and athletic abilities.

Unfortunately, Cameron’s diet actually hindered his performance. Cameron says initially, he stuck to many low-fat foods like cereal and skim milk. He began to experience gut health issues like cramping and bloating. Cameron says he muscled through the pain and never sought treatment from a doctor. However, he knew gut health issues were a prevalent problem in his family– especially his mom and her side of the family. Cameron’s mom, in particular, was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, which required surgery at one time.

 Cameron continued to experiment with other diets, such as paleo and keto. He tried a version of the vegetarian and vegan diets but said after three months, he was forced to quit because the diets made him feel terrible. Cameron’s weight increased during this time, and he also developed insomnia and headaches, affecting his daily life. Cameron says he tried just about every supplement he could think of for his health, but none seemed to work.
One day, Cameron stumbled across Dr. Shawn Baker’s YouTube channel. At first, he thought the concept of only eating meat sounded crazy. However, Cameron began to research and fact-check all of Dr. Baker’s claims and couldn’t find anything false. He decided to try the diet to see if it could help him.

Cameron says he first struggled with transitional issues going to the carnivore diet. He had heart palpitations for the first week on the diet, which he noted dissolved after several days. Cameron also struggled with a rollercoaster of sleeping well and then not sleeping for the first month on the diet. However, he began sleeping all night without waking up by week three or four on the diet.

Cameron has been following the carnivore diet for some time, so he says his body no longer requires as much sleep. Cameron also says his bloating and cramps were gone around six weeks into the diet. Additionally, Cameron says he lost weight quickly and has been able to keep it off easily. Cameron says he notices now he does not require intense workouts as he did before finding the carnivore diet. His strength and endurance have improved; he has even experienced better mental clarity and a sense of calm since starting the carnivore lifestyle.

Initially, when Cameron started following the carnivore diet, he ate all animal products. Since then, he has tweaked his diet and now eats mainly beef and some fish. Cameron experimented with organ meats but didn’t like the taste, and they didn’t seem to help him much.

Cameron says he loves the resources and information he found on the site and has started attending several meetings. Cameron says as a coach, his philosophy is “there isn’t a one size fits all solution.” He says he wants to work with his clients to determine what works best for them and “tailor” their plans to their needs. Cameron is thankful for the carnivore community and looks forward to helping many others in the future.
