Dovile healed cystic acne and lost weight on a carnivore lifestyle

Dovile’s Health Struggles and Previous Diets

Dovile was “pretty healthy” her whole life, except for cystic acne and gut problems. She was on a high-fat low-carb diet for two years, but achieved it with lots of vegetables, nuts and seeds. Her acne never went away, and it got worse in her 30’s, with deep pimples that left scars. She always felt like her skin was inflamed. She had tried eliminating milk and gluten but that didn’t help.

Almonds and cheese were her fat sources, and she was experiencing gut issues such as pain and bloating, as well as feeling very tired every day by the end of the day, more than she felt was normal.

Dovile Discovers the Carnivore Diet

Dovile realized that she had not tried the carnivore diet yet, so she decided to give it a try and see if she could finally improve.

She was already fat adapted from eating a lot of almonds, cheese, and other nuts and seeds. Dovile saw improvement in her digestive problems right away! “I actually lost all the digestive problems. My stomach just became so happy; I never felt bloated again, so that was a first thing. How flat you feel in your stomach and how easy, and there’s no bloating at all that was something really revolutionary for me, I was like, I could do it just for this!”

Positive Changes with the Carnivore Diet

After three and a half months of carnivore diet, Dovile has seen her health take a turn for the better: “it’s been a revolution. Number one thing for me was more energy, so before I was in bed by 10 pm, but now, 1 AM I’m still going and I’m gonna have to, you know, go to bed because it’s late!”

Dovile has had no acne at all since starting, and she finds that she needs less sleep while still having more energy. Her sleep quality is better, and she maintains her muscle better. Dovile also feels that her recovery is better after the bodyweight workouts that she does.

Dovile’s Carnivore Diet Routine

Dovile normally eats a steak or pork chop, eggs, or lamb. She sometimes cooks by roasting or slow cooking, and once a week she eats some chicken or beef liver though she doesn’t enjoy it. She is able to shop in the supermarket for her grass-fed meat in Australia.

Dovile’s Experience and Advice for Trying the Carnivore Diet

“The lifestyle itself is so easy, you don’t need to worry about anything else. You just go and get a really nice kind of meat, cook it quickly or half-raw.”

“It’s an amazing feeling when you don’t have cravings. My advice would be just to try it. Stay one month in and you will see the benefits. A week or two, maybe not much happening, week four sleeping better and more energy so, you know, it’s not one week, you need to give it more time for your body to clear out. I think everyone should try it and stick to it for one month. The feeling is a completely different feeling.”
