Coach Aaron B healed from Lymphocytic Colitis and Ankylosing Spondylitis on the carnivore diet

Coach Aaron lives in Waco, Texas, where he is a licensed massage therapist as well as an instructor and personal trainer. As a child, he grew up always hearing from his mother that fat and meat were bad. Aaron’s mom was an herbalist and always taught him as a kid that fat and meat were bad. His father was more animal-based. He brought home chicharrones and cow tongue from his job at a tortilla factory.

Aaron eventually decided to become a massage therapist after receiving assistance from one following a back injury. But, he would need the animal-based influence from his father!

When Aaron developed colon problems years later, the symptoms were severe. “Upset stomach; urgency to get up and go to the restroom first thing when I wake up. I had runny stools, and I was just cramping and bloating with some nausea.”

He was diagnosed with lymphocytic colitis in 2010 and had to take medication to control the symptoms. “I was on Asacol, which is a medicine that I was told I was gonna have to take for the rest of my life. I haven’t been taking it, so it’s been years.”

Aaron used his mom’s treatment philosophy and was doing shakes and smoothies with kale, broccoli, and spinach but was still having a lot of problems. He was told he would need to be medicated for the rest of his life.

Things got worse when in 2016, Aaron was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis and autoimmune arthritis. He saw four rheumatologists and was told he had the gene for this disease. He went on biologic drugs, Humira infusions, costing $6000/month.

In 2019, Aaron’s family were all doing ketogenic diets. His wife was baking a lot of keto-compliant sweetened cheesecakes and baking with nut flours. She used a lot of erythritol and other non-nutritive sweeteners, which can be very inflammatory for some individuals. Aaron continued to have severe problems.

In 2020, his wife suggested a carnivore diet for Aaron and his son. “In 2019, we were all doing keto, and with the colitis I had going I was still suffering because of the nut flours, the digestive inhibitors that are in almonds and stuff…in 2020… I thought ‘really? A carnivore diet? I don’t know about that-I don’t know if I want to go all animal-based. I don’t think that’s sustainable.”

Aaron looked for information about the diet and found the Joe Rogan interview with Dr. Shawn Baker. When he watched it, he thought “Wow this is something I’m going to have to commit to.”

Aaron then went on the carnivore diet, and it solved all the problems he was having!

He has been off Humira for over a year since then, with no problems. Aaron finds that his dental health has improved, as has a chronic foot and toe infection. Even his sense of smell is better, and a long-term anxiety issue is solved. He is now committed to this way of eating!

Irina overcame candida infection, vitamin D deficiency, and vasculitis on a carnivore diet

Irina struggled with many different ailments before she found the carnivore diet. She had Candida, IBS, a vitamin D deficiency since birth, bleeding gums, vasculitis that manifested when she was a teenager, PCOS, chronic inflammation, and exercise induced asthma. Her doctors told her, “This is just how it is, some people are just affected with these things.” Irina was in her mid-20’s and didn’t want to accept this, so she tried to approach her problems with nutrition.

Before starting her carnivore diet, Irina tried a vegetarian, pescatarian, veggie and meat combination diet, and keto. The keto diet caused her to gain weight and have digestive problems. She thinks now that it was because she ate too many nuts and nut products and veggies with fiber. All that fiber gave her painful bloating. Also, she never felt satisfied and had to eat constantly throughout the day.

None of these diets helped her various ailments. She continued to have IBS, joint pain from inflammation (swollen ankles or knees), asthma with lots of coughing when she exercised, a cyst on her ovary, Candida flares, chronically low vitamin D, gums that bled when she flossed, and vasculitis. Dealing with her candida flares, the PCOS, and her other conditions came to a head when Irina was 31. She became “fed up with doctors just trying to give me medication.”

She believes that the body is designed to be healthy, and she was doing something that prevented it from working properly. “I just wanted to find what it was.” At this point she decided to try the carnivore diet because she “was already kind of a hot mess.”

About two months before she did, Irina’s husband started the diet. She saw his eczema clear up, and this made an impression. In May of 2020, her husband showed her Dr. Baker’s podcast with Joe Rogan and she thought, “I have to try this. I have nothing to lose.”

Irina says she gets full and eats less than before. She enjoys eggs and bacon or natural sausage for lunch and various meats for dinner—pork, cheaper cuts of beef for slow-cooking, lamb, liver once a week, and sometimes chicken thighs. She enjoys the simplicity of the carnivore diet because there are few ingredients and meals are easy to prepare.

Irina now exercises about four days per week, doing weight training and high intensity workouts without asthma, joint pain, or swelling, and with faster recovery.

An ultrasound at the end of 2020 revealed that the cyst on her ovary was gone. There are no signs of inflamed capillaries from vasculitis, she doesn’t have IBS, no Candida flares, her dentist told her she has healthy gums—they never bleed anymore—and a blood test showed normal vitamin D levels, without any supplementation.

Since going on her carnivore diet, she “hasn’t had a single recurrence of any of this stuff. It’s like a magic cure.”

Claire overcame anorexia nervosa and depression on a low-carb diet

Growing up in France, Claire ate the typical French diet rich in saturated fat and protein. A dancer, she was naturally thin like her fellow ballerinas-in-training. Constant comparisons as to who was the slimmest, however, led Claire to develop body-image issues, and as she entered her teenage years, she started to restrict her eating. Her parents were in the dark concerning her struggles, and after experiencing a traumatic incident at the age of 16, her eating disorder got worse and developed into full-blown Anorexia Nervosa.

As the years passed by, Claire became a prisoner to her tyrannical eating disorder. At 5’ 7”, her weight would go on to drop to a life-threatening 69 pounds. She became so frail she had to use a wheelchair, and at one point, even lost the fat from her optical nerves and went blind for months. Her hair fell out, her teeth fell out, and her heart rate was always hovering below 40. In 2017, she got the flu and died on the table for several minutes. At 33 years old, Claire was desperate beyond measure, and started looking for alternative ways to try and conquer Anorexia.

When she came across the carnivore diet, she was intrigued by its simplicity. She started with a low-fat option, but still didn’t feel very well. Then, in July of 2021, Claire was unable to go swimming with her family when on vacation because she was freezing cold—even though it was the middle of the summertime. In her sadness, she became resolved to give the carnivore diet a real try, and booked a coaching session with one of the Revero coaches online. They encouraged Claire to think about eating meat and fat like taking medicine, and if she committed to it fully, her body would heal—fast.

“I was so scared, but from one day to another I only ate fatty meat…it was a life changer.” Claire started off with easy-to-digest ground beef. She also drank raw egg yolks and snacked on butter—sometimes up to several sticks a day! “I was eating fat all the time, and my body handled it fantastically…It was like body happiness…I couldn’t stop! Since the moment I started eating this way, I was not able to restrict anymore…I have to eat when I’m hungry—my body is so happy with it!”

Within three months, Claire was able to gain 20 pounds and come off all of her anti-depression medication—in close collaboration with her doctor, of course! Now, 39 years old and with a full head of hair, Claire is up to 110 pounds. Instead of being wheelchair-bound and blind, she is able to jump on the trampoline with her son, and work all day in her job as an engineer. All of her blood markers are excellent as well, leaving her doctors amazed.

Any lingering concerns about her weight have vanished, and Claire is miraculously unbothered by the scale.“The carnivore diet is not about weight loss, it’s about weight optimization. So, if it brings me to gain twenty more pounds or thirty more pounds—it’s possible—I don’t have any trouble with it. I want to feel satiated all the time and I want to be able to think clearly and I don’t want to restrict…I’m eating amazing food, I’m doing some movement, I’m sleeping well, so the weight will be what it has to be.”

Janet loses weight on a mainly carnivore diet

I’ve been chubby almost all my life. I’ve lost weight but unable to keep it off. In October of 2016, at the age of 57 I had a mindset change and became motivated to be healthy enough to enjoy my future grandkids. Family history was not good; my father died in his sleep at 61 (clogged arteries) and mother died of heart attack at 78. My oldest brother had double bypass at 60 and is now on dialysis. My other three brothers were on medicines to control blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar. One of them has since died of multiple Myeloma. Another brother has adopted a low carbohydrate diet and is off most meds.

My cholesterol was at 230 with A1c of 5.7. I joined Weight Watchers at 159.5 lbs. I am 4’11”. The points system was based on a low-fat diet and nothing was off limits in proper portions. It took me 18 months to reach my goal of 124 lbs. This gave me a BMI of 25. I was pleased with the loss but my cholesterol and A1c did not go down. Over the next three years I struggled to maintain 124. My husband was on the same journey as I with cholesterol of 240 and A1c of 5.8.

In September 2020 we retired and relocated to Fort Worth, Texas to be close to our daughter and son-in-law who were expecting our first grandson. We started watching several YouTube videos in which doctors, nutritionist, and others spoke about the benefits of low carb, keto, and carnivore diets as well as intermittent fasting. We became persuaded that the food pyramid was junk and could be the cause of metabolic syndrome. Our annual labs showed no change in our cholesterol or A1c. Statins were recommended but we both rejected this option.

In November 2021 we started a low carb diet and intermittent fasting; breakfast of eggs and meat at 11am and either a large salad (with meat) or steak & steamed vegetables at 4pm. It was easy and I was amazed at how satisfied I felt. We had labs done after 3 months. My weight dropped 6 lbs., my A1c dropped to 5.5 but my cholesterol was 270. My doctor strongly encouraged me to take a statin. I refused and asked about other options to gauge heart health. Her answer was to take a CT heart calcium score test. My husband and I both had the test done. My score was 6 and my husband’s score was 0. These results confirmed two things for me; 1) cholesterol level is a poor indicator of heart health 2) a low carb, keto or carnivore diet is much better for me than low fat, whole grains, and seed oils.

Other benefits we experienced over the last year is better dental health, my childhood skin fungus has vanished, my husband has no more skin tags, his athletes foot issue is gone, his acid reflux cured, and his eye floaters are reduced.

Steve improved his depression and has not had a seizure on a carnivore diet

The old Steve
The new Steve

Hi, my name is Steve. I would like to share my story in the hopes that it will be inspirational to others.

I’m 34 years young. In my 20s I was a footballer. I played 3rd & 2nd grade for Manly Marlins. I was your average young guy who loved to party & have fun. On the 29th April 2012 I was playing a game & hit my head however I continued playing & then after the game went out with my mates & got drunk. To cut a long story short, it turns out that I had a concussion & the next thing I knew I awoke in hospital after being in a coma for 2 weeks. I has suffered a hypoxic brain injury.

As a result I was left severely disabled. I was wheelchair bound, had brain damage, I became vision impaired, I lost a lot of weight, had a lot of trouble chewing, swallowing and talking. Worst of all I developed epilepsy and was having regular seizures which seemed to make my disabilities even worse.

Over the past 8 years I have suffererd with severe depression & anxiety. I have a fantastic team of therapists and carers & very slowly have seen some improvement.

In November 2019 my carer suggested a ketogenic diet which very swiftly changed to a carnivore diet.

Since then my depression & anxiety has gone, I cannot explain how good I feel. My eyesight has improved to the extent that I no longer need glasses, my speech has improved, I have put back on most of the weight I had lost (and gained lots of muscle tone).

I also had major trouble with my sinuses, my nose was constantly blocked or running but that has now stopped, my sinuses are clear. Best thing ever is that I have not had a seizure this whole time.

Since being plant free I have:
  • more energy and feel better than ever
  • recieved a positive blood test showing healthy ranges of all blood markers including normal nutrient levels. LDL was high but triglycerides were very low
  • regular and health bowel motions
  • recieved a great report from my councellor, saying she had never seen me in a better mental state
  • recieved an amazing report from my chiropractor saying hes never seen me in better condition and does not want to touch me
  • recieved a great report from my OT saying she was very pleased with the progress ive made and i had better keep doing what i am doing
  • improved fine motor skills
  • improved cognotive ability, i have so many great ideas for future projects
  • not had a virus, cold, or allegy, in fact my nasal congestion issues have decreased massively
  • felt a huge improvement to my dental hygeine. i was having massive problems before and the dentist said i would need to go back soon probably for another filling however i am not experiencing any pain or discomfort.

I take no supplements or medication apart from Keppra for my epilepsy, however I believe I will be able to come off that one day.

I believe whole heartedly in this diet, I am educating myself about it constantly and hope to have a blog to help educate others one day.

Kurt improved his digestion, mood and anxiety on a carnivore diet

Growing up I had gut issues the majority of my childhood. I would regularly get bloated and experience stomach cramps and diarrhea after meals. All the while others eating the same foods would have much less of a reaction. I saw several specialists, experienced several uncomfortable exams and tests and we never found a “cause” that was treatable in these doctors’ eyes.

By my teenage years I began suffering from terrible acne. I had such oily skin and clogged pores that in middle school it created real shame. After trying many treatments (proactive, retinol cream, differin gel) and seeing a dermatologist for years I started taking the prescription drug Accutane.

For 6 months while on this medication I had several unpleasant side effects. I had regular nose bleeds, dry throat and felt myself being dried from the inside out. It completely wrecked my sense of smell and taste. Years later I ended up having to undergo sinus surgery to clear sinus scarring, and I can only smell and taste 20-30% of what I could before going on this medication.

As my gut issues persisted, I started manifesting an anxiety disorder into sophomore year of college. While studying pre-med, I experienced my first anxiety attack in a professor’s office. I started heating up, sweating profusely, as my heart pounded rapidly. It totally freaked me out. It was not a pleasant experience and started me down the path to avoid any and all situations that could trigger my anxious symptoms of overheating.

The fear of becoming anxious trapped me from facing things I feared, being challenged. I was terrified to get “caught” in a situation where I would experience them and lose control of my feelings and body’s reaction.

Despite this I still managed to successfully graduate college, join Microsoft and then excel at Zillow for nearly a decade as I mastered a career in sales.

Fast forward going into 2014-2015. I left the corporate world to pursue my entrepreneurial dream. To build a business and generate income through my digital agency, Crushvertise. I was experiencing more responsibility and stress than I had ever learned to manage.

I began exploring diet and lifestyle changes to help build my resiliency and ability to handle more. I studied Bulletproof concepts, Tim Ferris and I was starting to practice intermittent fasting, paleo diets and incorporate more keto dieting. I began adding bulletproof coffee (butter, MCT oil) regularly and later started adding afternoon superfood smoothies. Those often consisted of kale, spinach, almond butter, blueberries, flax seeds, chia seeds, honey, cacao nibs and cinnamon.

I thought if I could fuel my body with these “powerful” “healthful” foods I would thrive and be better equipped to handle my anxiety and stress. I figured the healthy antioxidant superfoods combined with a “balanced” “healthy” diet would give me a level of resilience I truly desired.

Unfortunately my anxiety and mood continued to deteriorate. I began waking up anxious, and those feelings would climb. By 10am most mornings I was a wreck and needed to take a break simply to allow anxious feelings to calm. This continued for months until I had another panic attack in my office that ultimately left me traumatized and depressed.

All the while I just so happened to be attending a gym at the same location and time that Dr. Paul Saladino (@CarnivoreMD) went to as well. As we bumped into each other and I was able to foster a friendship we quickly became good buds. He was studying psychiatry and I was desperate to get to the source of what was going on with me.

We were both active and passionate about wellness and optimization. We didn’t have any knowledge about the Carnivore Diet at that time but that changed very quickly.

We did extensive blood panels and GI maps to look for anything and everything that might be causing my mental and gut health issues. Despite our invasive search, nothing obvious stood out. There were no pathogens or issues that came up and we didn’t see any clear reasons for why I was in the condition I was.

I chalked it up to needing to work on my thought pattern and began deeply working on studying and counseling with therapists and specialists to learn more about anxiety and mental health.

While I was making some progress in this area Paul saw Dr. Shawn Baker’s interview about the Carnivore Diet on The Joe Rogan experience and found it quite intriguing. Dr. Saladino was treating patients dealing with mental health and he kept seeing them relapse and/or simply not get well with current treatment protocols.

Paul started Carnivore and he almost immediately started encouraging me to try it when I’d see him. A few weeks after, I followed and went full on Carnivore. Almost immediately I noticed an improvement in my mood. Gut issues continued, but skin and mood started to swing up quickly and drastically.

Paul and I would share meals and experiment with different animal foods, sourcing and prep. It took us a while but we started learning more about raw fats, organ meats and sourcing from regenerative farms.

Six months after starting the diet and I was able to see my gut issues completely remiss and with that almost no anxiety anymore. I remember at one point thinking to myself I had completely forgotten what it was like to eat something and experience gut dis-ease.

Fast forward another nearly year, I’ve gone from fabio, pale frail Kurt struggling emotionally to lumberjack, vital, fit bearded me. The transformation has been incredible.

My emotional state and gut health has completely transformed and this diet has had a tremendous impact in this part of my life change. Since beginning Carnivore I’ve done several rounds of labs, testing hormones, inflammation, micronutrients and toxins. I’ve deeply documented my journey on my Youtube, Instagram and now in my book, The Carnivore Diet.

If you’ve dealt with chronic anxiety or gut issues, I highly encourage you to learn more from my content. This doesn’t have to be a life sentence, you can heal and recover. I know what it’s like to feel “stuck” and not make progress in these areas, but it is possible to recover. I’ve worked hard to get to the root cause and now feel as though I have it handled. The Carnivore Diet done well can be a powerful tool to assist you on the road to recovery.

All the best,

Kurt

Katya improved digestion, bladder and kidney pain on a carnivore diet

My name is Katya.

Basically I was a Raw Vegan and  pioneer of the lifestyle in Australia some 20 years ago.  I opened the first Raw and living foods cafe, way ahead of its time, then went on to teach classes, programs and run retreats.

I have a background in digestive health, prior to opening my own raw food cafe,  lectured at Hippocrates Health Food Institute on  cleansing, detoxing and was also resident colonic therapist for a period of time.  In 1974 I had a vegetarian bf and at that time the only vegetarian ‘fake meats on the market were Sanitarium soy based dried kibble, and canned products.

I  had periods of vegetarian and veganism before going raw vegan in 2000. Throughout the first 12 months, I felt and looked  fantastic.

The end of the  next year, I began to get  anemic.  I have a strong constitution, from my Russian father;s side,  yet   my reserves of iron, in particular, had now diminished.

I began to get mildly anxious for no reason well into the  third year. The anemia progressed into the 3rd year   until I had to see a doctor. II was so pale,  lost weight, had shortness of brerath on walking a few metres, was so fatigued and weak.

I finally had to go to a doctor. .My iron levels were under 7. The doctor was shocked. and adamant I eat meat.  I had to have immediate iron injections, as I refused to eat meat.  So I ate eggs for periods of time, and then went back to eating raw vegan as if it never happened.

Then superoods’ came to the rescue promoted by David Wolfe.  AFA, green barley powder, spirulina.  I thought that would solve all my iron problems as the labels said it was high in iron.. unfortunately not bio available heme iron.

In 2012 I went fruitarian for 3 years and thats when I really struck problems. It was good at for the first 8-12 months, then I began to get more pin hole  cavities. Lots of them. I would get them filled and more would come.   Towards the end of fruitarianism, my teeth were so sensitive  it hurt when I ate food,  I lost two upper molars, as they had become weak and slightly looser in my gums and infections set in. It was a nightmare, as I refused root canals and had them extracted instead.

In 2015 gut and  sleep problems began to happen,  leaky gut, continual bloating, then more anxiety, brain fog and finally an auto immune disorder – fibromyalgia.

Two  months short of of 62,  after 20 plus years identifying  and immersing myself in the world of raw veganism, I really hit the wall. I was still looking good on the outside, yet what was taking place on the inside could no longer be ignored.

The signs became more obvious, pointing  to a deterioration of my skeleton, a breaking down of my kidneys, my immune system, my nervous system, my digestion, and my blood sugar regulation. I was almost Type 2 diabetic.

I never went into raw veganism for an ‘ethical’ belief I held. In fact, initially, health issues weren’t my driving force either.

For me, rejuvenation was the fuel firing the search and exploration of protocols, which repaired, renewed and rejuvenated the body, mind and spirit.

I ignored many red flags during my vegan years, yet I was successfully programmed and veganism had become my identity. Towards the end stage of veganism, I began salivating at the smell of roast chickens in clear plastic roteserie bags at the supermarkets. Yet my vegan brainswashed mind would tell me. ” Its a body bag, dont pick it up.”

I shut down my body’s intelligent feedback system to eat animal foods. I had ignored it/over rode the signals for years, the intense vegan programming had taken over and I suffered the consequences I craving eggs more frequently every few weeks. Finally I had a dark night of the soul, at 62. A complete breakdown. My immune system crashed. I had 3 bouts of food poisoning within 6 months. and it was horrendous.

During the period of heaving over the toilet bowl, crying and crying out in desperation for help, I heard loud and clear to “Go Eat Fish” so I did. and then after a few days. the message came to eat more fish, every day. Immediate improvement. I then went on to chicken. Yet the brainwashing was the hardest to unravel. I was convinced raw veganism was the healthiest diet on the planet, even with the health problems I was suffering with, I put it down to stress or detoxing…

It took me 15 months before I could eat red meat. and then things really started to improve. I took out all high oxalate plants, and went low carb, then zero carb, while my body reset itself. It was hard, as I went through a few months of intense oxalate dumping. But I pushed through and now have reversed many of the health problems I had.

My teeth are strong and firmly anchored in my gums. I have no plaque on my teeth, or sensitivity. After the incredible improvement in my dental health, just from eating meat based, I was angry for a couple of months about losing two upper molars, unnecessarily, however I’ve accepted it and am grateful that I had divine intervention to stop veganism and to change my diet.

My gut is healing wonderfully, I have reversed joint pain, I have reversed sarcopenia. Finally I am gaining weight without real exercise, just from consuming lots of fatty meats. I sleep much better, deeply. Before I was waking every to hours, with my heart racing, mind racing. Now that has stopped.

I am happier and cope with stress more easily. My body doesnt go into fight flight so easily. My physical strength has improved. No longer teetering on Type 2 diabetes. Bladder pain, kidney pain improved Less trips to the bathroom at night.

Blood sugar regulation has improved Jaw tension improved. Inflammatory allergic reactions greatly improved. the auto immune Right now I eat a meat based ancestral nose to tail diet, and now that my gut has healed dramatically, I can have the occasional small inclusions of avocado, sauerkraut, or cucmber. This is just a general overview of what happened through 2 decades of almost all raw vegan. Happy to speak with you about my experiences and how a meat based diet healed me.

Kind regards,

Katya

BNS improved digestion, mouth ulcers, and hair on a carnivore diet

Shrinivas, known to his followers as BNS, or “The Indian Carnivore”, stumbled upon information on a carnivore diet through YouTube channel “Impact Theory”. He’s read hundreds of books, including Dr. Ken Berry’s “Lies My Doctor Told Me”, and through his research, discovered Dr. Shawn Baker’s approach to a carnivore lifestyle.

“In India, It’s extremely hard to get authentic information regarding health,” he says. BNS’s family complained about his excessive snoring, and he had tried several other ways to lose weight with little success. For him, the transition to a meat-based diet came rather easily. “My friends in school used to call me the ‘Meat Boy’! In the beginning, I was still eating rice and was able to lose about 20 pounds, but I went 100% carnivore three months ago during World Carnivore Month.” For 31 days in January, many people around the world implement a carnivore diet and track their progress throughout the challenge. It’s a perfect opportunity for those who are looking to make significant changes to their lifestyles and eating habits through a diet that focuses on animal-based foods.

In just three months since fully committing to a carnivore diet, BNS reports he lost 25 pounds in his first month! “My body composition has changed as well,” BNS shares with Revero coach Tracy. “I’ve lost more than 49 pounds altogether. It’s been the easiest way of losing weight. I even have abs now, without exercise!” He’s also been able to gain more muscle and have more energy while eating less frequently.

Losing weight and physical fitness gains were just some of the numerous benefits for BNS. Since making the switch, he no longer suffers from hair loss, and his digestion has improved, and has no more burping or bloating. “I used to suffer from mouth ulcers every two weeks or so, and now those have disappeared,” BNS shares.

For BNS, his own carnivore journey has turned into a family affair. In addition to fixing his snoring problem that kept everyone awake at night, BNS’s father has been able to improve symptoms of Type 2 diabetes. “My father’s blood glucose levels are stable, he’s losing visceral fat and experiencing better sleep.” BNS’s mother no longer has joint pain and her plantar fasciitis has gone away, while his sister has lost weight and sleeps much better. His grandmother is also on board the carnivore train, and now enjoys increased energy levels, reduced joint pain, better vision, and fat loss. As a carnivore family, their meat-based diet primarily consists of goat meat, crab, prawns and chicken. “You can say this diet has literally changed my family’s life for the better!”

BNS says he has found an incredible sense of community and a wealth of information thanks to the Carnivore.Diet platform. “It has given me the opportunity to meet fellow carnivores and constantly update my knowledge levels. Also, this platform has helped me to forge deeper relationships with people like coaches and community members like Tracy, Justin, Leah, NitiBali, Raymond and Brett, etc. I am deeply grateful to Dr. Shawn Baker and the Carnivore.Diet platform!”

Callan improved energy, dental health and muscle tone on carnivore diet

It has long been said that “a picture’s worth a thousand words”, and for 23-year-old carnivore Callan, the old adage holds true! After just three months on a carnivore diet, Callan shares a number of positive changes to his health, both inward healing and outward improvements to his physique.

“In the picture where I look heavier, I was following a paleo diet and eating one meal a day but continuing to gain weight,” Callan shares. “In the picture where I am leaner, I am eating carnivore meals as frequently as I feel like, and I don’t have to track what I eat. For the first time in my life, I trust my appetite and there are no issues.”

Callan says he has tried many diets over the years, and started his carnivore journey with no major health issues. However, as he progressed through his first three months, he was surprised to be healing from issues he hadn’t realized were present until they went away. “My minor acne has disappeared, and my breath no longer smells bad.” Callan shares that he didn’t even realize how severely his gums were inflamed until they cleared up once he was following a carnivore diet. Bad breath is often caused by gum inflammation, and can be an early warning sign of gum diseases like gingivitis.

In addition to my gums healing, my joint inflammation has completely gone away throughout my body.” This improvement has allowed Callan to work out more regularly and train harder at the gym. Many who follow a carnivore diet report significant improvements to their recovery time after an intense workout. “It’s easier than ever to build muscle and lose fat simultaneously,” Callan explains. “I’ve become faster and stronger in the gym, and I am able to work out with more intensity than I used to.

For variety and based on what’s available to him, Callan’s diet includes eggs, kangaroo, sardines, and grain-fed beef. However, he notes that “the best results I’ve seen on the carnivore diet have come from eating grass-fed red meat exclusively.” Initially, Callan included dairy and butter in his diet, but found that he still had lingering joint pain. “When I cut butter and dairy out of my diet, my very severe knee pain disappeared within 48 hours,” he shares in his testimonial.

In terms of inward changes, Callan has enjoyed more stable and consistent energy throughout the day, and finds that he needs even less sleep than he did before to feel refreshed. “I have a consistent calm and happy mood throughout the entire day, which I attribute to not having any sugar.” Many people following a standard American diet may not realize that insulin spikes from sugar. High-carb foods can increase irritability and in some cases, cause mood swings.

As a final observation comparing his before and after photos, Callan believes that his hair has grown in darker and fuller since he began his carnivore journey.

Melissa improved chronic fatigue, PCOS and endometriosis on carnivore diet

Melissa began her search for a proper diet because she saw that her health was unstable. Over the years, she had seen her weight fluctuate from being overweight, to being obese, and at some points being underweight.

Problems!

She had experienced metabolic syndrome as a result of the weight issues, and her body no longer responded properly to insulin. Inflammation had resulted in a host of additional problems, including interstitial cystitis. This is a painful bladder condition that is challenging for many people to get relief from.

Melissa’s blood pressure had become elevated, and her blood lipids such as cholesterol had become very imbalanced as well.

Her microbiome was imbalanced, resulting in chronic yeast infections. These are common infections that are made worse by diets that have sugars or even just carbohydrates.

Melissa also developed endometriosis, a condition where cells that normally grow inside the lining of the uterus begin to grow outside the uterus. These cells can cause adhesions in nearby tissues such as the ovaries, intestines, and bladder. It also is known to cause severe pain.

The problems had multiplied, and she found herself also diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome, or PCOS. This condition is the result of hormone imbalances, typically an elevation of androgens, and in Melissa’s case it ended up requiring a hysterectomy.

Because of her hysterectomy, Melissa needed to use bioidentical hormones to stabilize her hormones at a normal level. Her menopause journey was defined by these changes.

Melissa also experienced Grade 2 pelvic organ prolapse, as well as vulvodynia which is pain in and around the vagina. Ouch!

Moods and Other Issues

The imbalances that Melissa was experiencing affected her in other ways, causing her moods to fluctuate, her motivation to wane, and problems with weak nails, teeth, and immune system as well as skin changes.

Carnivore Experience

Melissa took her time making the leap to a carnivore diet, but it paid off: “I came to carnivore in the spring of 2019 after thinking about it for a year and reluctantly deciding to give it a 30 day trial. I had gradually lost 40 pounds before starting carnivore and was at a normal BMI. I’ve lost an additional 13 pounds effortlessly since making the transition. I no longer have most of the above issues and the only medication I’m on is bio identical HRT for early menopause from the hysterectomy.”

Deeper Healing

As she continued on the diet, Melissa saw her health return: “The additional benefits I’ve experienced so far include: stable mood, increased motivation, improved relationships, stronger nails, softer skin and hair, stronger teeth and immune system.”

Getting Back to Living!

“I’m also feeling so good that I’ve decided to go back to University in the Fall to finish a degree I put on the back burner over 25 years ago! I finally have energy and desire to live life to the fullest! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the inspiring people in the carnivore community who shared your stories.”
