Life-Changing Decision: the Carnivore Diet
Carnivore has changed my life!!! I cannot say it any other way. My husband and I started Carnivore on Thursday, 4/7/22. I tell you it was a Thursday because we ate a breakfast and lunch full of carbs and by dinner, we went cold turkey to Carnivore. We didn’t need a Monday or a 1st of the month, we needed to do something and that Thursday night! We went hard-core.
Our Background and Inspiration
A little backstory, my husband and I are both police officers. He had a partner that was new to our department and was a Carnivore. He begged my husband to try it for months. My husband was about 320 and 6’1″, and completely out of shape and unhealthy. He had extremely high blood pressure that he was on 4 medication for, he had severe sleep apnea and was most like pre-diabetic. My husband came home from work and said, we need to try this meat diet for 30 days. I told him, that sounds so unhealthy. He said, I know but my partner swears by it.
The Research and Realization
I started to research it and realized, I was completely wrong, so our Carnivore lifestyle began. I told my husband, I would give it 30 days, but was not sure I could pull it off because “I love my salads” (those words make me cringe now).
Commitment and Results
At day 31, I told him I would never ever change from the Carnivore lifestyle. I am a Carnivore for life. I will never have another cupcake, candy bar or can of pop, and I feel good about that. We have been so mislead by the USDA and FDA. I want to shout this from the rooftops!!!
I am now looking to move my career into becoming a Carnivore lifestyle coach.
Remarkable Health Improvements
Together my husband and I lost 183lbs. He was 320lbs now he is 220lbs. I was 230lbs now I am 147lbs.
Carnivore healed high blood pressure, sleep apnea, skin issues, inflammation, pitting edema, and increased energy levels and all around feeling amazing daily. I love that my energy level remains constant through the day, no highs and lows.
Changing Relationship with Food
One huge changes for me though, I don’t think about food constantly anymore. I was a “foodie”!! I constantly thought about my next meal and/or snack. I hoarded food at times, kept little Debbie snacks in my center console of my car, I would eat spoonfuls of frosting like yogurt, and woke up at 2am to eat a bag of peanut M&M’s. That life is over for me. I will never be that person again!
Spreading the Word
I have shared our Carnivore lifestyle with many others, and a few have really put in the effort to go straight carnivore. Three of my female friends have lost a over 200lbs together!!! They all feel great and love the lifestyle. My husband’s partner now, has also lost 100lbs eating Carnivore. We don’t push the lifestyle but people can’t help but ask us why we look so thin and healthy now.
