Mark got stronger on a carnivore diet

First of all, thank you Shawn for spreading a clear and concise message on healthy eating, carnivore facts, etc. I definitely appreciate how you keep it direct and simple to follow! It’s been great learning about this lifestyle from you, whether it’s on your channel, Joe Rogan’s, or the HPO channel.

My results

I’m 42 years old and have been carnivore for about 36 days. The results have been fantastic. I have slimmed down a great deal, and I did not suffer from any brain fog, as I did while on Keto / Paleo.

Free pull up gains

I’ve been an FBI Special Agent for the last 11 years, and prior to that I was in the military. I mention that, because I did 12 pull ups in my basement this week. I was shocked at how easy they were! (I haven’t attempted any pull ups for years, and I was just goofing around with my kids when I jumped up and tried them).

Prior to that, the most I’d ever done was 13 pull ups…when I was 19 years old. I was only able to do 4 pull ups at the FBI Academy, when I was 31 years old.  And sadly, I had been training for months leading up to it. (To be fair, it wasn’t a “graded” event, but still on the test…and I was in decent shape).

Stronger in BJJ

Of note, I train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu several times a week and was worried about eating zero carbs on carnivore, but after seeing your interview with Sarah Thackray, it put me at ease. My training hasn’t suffered one bit, and if anything, I feel stronger.

Helping my father

Last, my 76 year old dad has some health struggles right now. I purchased your book for him and he really loves it. I’m hoping he transitions over to a healthier, meat based diet and can eventually ditch all the medications the doctors have been prescribing him. Unfortunately, I think the cocktail of meds are part of the problem. I continually send him clips of your interviews with other doctors and some of your success stories. I hope it helps him and I suspect it would.

A meat based future

I plan to continue a strict Carnivore diet for at least another 60 days.(probably longer).  I’m a very private person, and I normally wouldn’t send anything like this out. However, I feel this stuff is too important to ignore. Thanks again for what you’re doing. I’m just very excited about this lifestyle. The videos you produce and the information you’ve put out there has had an effect on my whole family, as my wife enjoys the success stories too. We have transitioned more and more to a meat based diet for the family.

Take care and good luck to everyone out there on their own journeys.

Thanks,

Mark
