Brian: What Happens When You Go Full Carnivore

For Brian Kelly, a 53-year-old construction site manager from Ireland living in Copenhagen, the turning point didn’t happen in a doctor’s office. It happened on a WhatsApp group with 500 of his colleagues.

A photo taken for site safety captured Brian from the side, and when he zoomed in, he didn’t recognize the man he saw. “I was looking like a nine-month pregnant woman,” Brian recalls. “My face was badly inflamed, double chin… the fat was hanging off my arm. It was disgusting to me.” He realized he was living the stereotypical construction life: long hours away from home, fast food, and sedentary nights on the sofa.

The “Hidden” Ailments

What Brian didn’t realize at the time was that his body was screaming for help through more than just the scale. He was living with a “multitude of things” he had simply accepted as part of aging:

Severe Gout: Pain so sharp in his feet and big toes that he relied on constant painkillers just to keep walking.

Sciatica and Neck Pain: Chronic spinal inflammation that restricted his range of motion to the point where he couldn’t turn his head without a “snapping” feeling.

Sleep Apnea and Tinnitus: A diagnosed sleep disorder and a 15-year constant ringing in his ears that doctors told him was “permanent damage.”

The “Blueberry” Breakthrough

Brian started his journey by cutting out seed oils, grains, and processed sugars, which moved him into a “keto” state. He saw immediate progress, but a few issues lingered. It wasn’t until he dove into the world of Carnivore—following the lead of Dr. Shawn Baker and Dr. Anthony Chaffey—that the final pieces clicked.

The last thing he held onto were “healthy” blueberries and Greek yogurt. “The gout was still lingering,” he says. “The minute I decided to get rid of those blueberries, the gout just disappeared within a week. It completely vanished.”

The Hunter-Gatherer Result

In just eight months, Brian dropped 37 kilos (over 80 pounds) and has maintained that loss effortlessly for over a year. But the real victories are the ones you can’t see on a scale:

TOTAL PAIN REVERSAL: His sciatica, neck pain, and gout are gone. He is now “very flexible” and back to functional movements like sprinting.

VASCULAR HEALING: Brian reversed “Vibration White Finger,” a painful construction-related circulation issue where his fingers would go numb and white in the cold. Despite -7°C temperatures in Denmark, his circulation is now perfect.

SENSORY RESTORATION: His tinnitus vanished after 15 years, and even his hearing and eyesight have noticeably improved.

Setting the Example

Today, Brian shares his “Hunter-Gatherer Mindset” to show others that “it’s not genetic—it’s what’s in the shopping cart.” His transformation has already influenced his two adult sons, who are now 90% carnivore and seeing their own injuries heal in record time.

For Brian, this isn’t just a diet; it’s a biological homecoming.

“When you become awakened through the carnivore diet, you see a lot more of the sickness going on… It’s a reset to factory settings.”
