Stacey describes her carnivore journey as “somewhat of a miracle,” and her doctor would have to agree! In less than a year, she has completely reversed heart disease and lost weight while following a carnivore diet.
Nine months ago, Stacey received scary news from her cardiologist that no patient wants to hear. “I was diagnosed with left bundle branch blockage,” Stacey shares. While a relatively common diagnosis, with 200,000 cases reported in the U.S. each year, it is considered a chronic condition that can last a lifetime if not treated.
A left bundle branch blockage occurs when electrical impulses to the left side of the heart are delayed or blocked. This makes it harder for the heart to circulate blood throughout the body, leading to fainting and a slow heart rate. If a patient already has heart disease or another underlying condition, treatment such as installing a pacemaker may be necessary.
In Stacey’s case, her doctor brought her in for a follow-up appointment and ordered an EKG (electrocardiogram) to monitor her heart. The simple test is quick and painless and allows the doctor to record the heart’s electrical signals. The signals are shown as waves on an attached computer monitor.
To everyone’s surprise, the test showed something miraculous had happened: “I saw my doctor today. He checked the EKG to see if my condition had gotten worse. Well, it’s gone!” Stacey’s blockage was completely cleared since her last visit.
Contrary to what the mainstream medical community might advise, Stacey successfully lost weight by following a meat-based diet. Since following a carnivore diet, Stacey lost a significant amount of weight. “My doctor was thrilled with my weight loss, but he was not thrilled when I told him how I did it!”
While weight loss is common on a carnivore diet, there are other healing benefits that go beyond what might show up on the scale. Stabilizing blood sugar on a carnivore diet has healing effects on the cardiovascular system as well. Many patients with high blood pressure are able to return to normal levels on a meat-based diet, something that may seem counterintuitive based on advice from the medical community in recent years.
“My doctor said in all the years he has practiced medicine, this type of heart condition doesn’t just go away on its own. He told me I was on track to get a defibrillator in five years. He says I am a miracle!” If Stacey’s condition worsened, her doctor would have implanted a defibrillator to correct her uneven heartbeat and prevent the heart from stopping.
While Stacey’s doctor can’t be sure whether her healing was due to the weight loss or from following a carnivore diet, he told her he “won’t argue with success!” She’s pleased to learn that he’ll share her story with other patients, too. “My doctor says he can now tell patients that this condition could go away. This makes me so happy!”
