Prior to meeting with Mark I had been carnivorish (90% meat & fat with 50-100g of carbs from fruit and honey) for 2 years but every time I tried to go full carnivore I would get massive nocturnal leg cramps on the third or fourth night of eating strict zero carb. This would also happen when I would fast for more than 48 hours. I tried all the common suggested tips and tricks found in books and on the internet for muscle cramps: drinking more water, drinking less water, drinking electrolytes, higher salt intake, magnesium supplements, topical magnesium oil, epsom salt baths, high protein lower fat, high fat lower protein, dairy, etc. Dairy did work for cramping but the negative allergic symptoms from dairy were intolerable.
Another practitioner explained that since my mitochondria were so damaged from 20 years of vegetarian/veganism that I may not ever be able to go without supplemental carbs.
Understanding the benefits others had received from removing the last bit of plants and sugar from their diet I still looked for a solution.
Mark was able to provide me with that missing piece of the puzzle. After applying his suggestions I am now able to be 100% carnivore with no nocturnal cramps! I still have more healing to do but this has gotten me over a major hurdle, thanks Mark! If I run into any further problems with this lifestyle I will definitely get Mark’s consultation.
